Code Kids Club

Our Code Kids classes get future-focused by exposing children to the basic principles of coding and computer programming.  Through games and interactive activities, children become familiar with key terms, learn about sequencing and logic and move into how Scratch is configured and used. Applying their early learnings, children create their own simple game to play and share with others.

Once children have learnt and tinkered with the basic concepts, subsequent sessions step into the functionality of the individual coding blocks. From there we are able to move into self-paced sessions that allow for greater creative expression. In these ongoing sessions, children are provided with a project or challenge and encouraged to design their own games and animations with guidance and feedback from our Build-A-Mind edutainers.

In each additional term, children are supported as they delve deeper into the rich world of coding and introduce new levels of functionality and design to their mind-blowing projects.

Things to bring:
Please bring a snack and drink.
Things to remember:
These are academic sessions (not after-school care) so active participation is essential.
If a session falls on a public holiday, the term is extended by one week.
Children are expected to clean up after themselves at the end of each session.
Our values:
We are resilient learners.
We are persistent learners.
We learn more through our set-backs than our successes.
