Middle Ground Home School
10 December, 2019 @ 11:45 AM - 12:45 PM
An event every week that begins at 11:45 AM on Tuesday, repeating until 10 December, 2019
This is an 8 week project where each student will design and build their very own video game to share with their friends.
The project will go from beginning to end starting with game design and storyboarding, character creation, through all the coding and development, and in the final week to everyone having a gaming session, playing each others finished creations.
During the course of the project students will learn basic game design and all the programming fundamentals to code their creations.
Students will be taught how to program in a visual drag and drop programming tool called Scratch which is a popular STEM programming platform used in a variety of settings including many school programs. For this project students will not need to learn or type syntax.
By the end of the 8 weeks students should have enough understanding and hands on experience in coding using Scratch and all the basic programming fundamentals to move onto their own additional scratch projects by themselves.
