What exactly is S.T.E.A.M.?

STEAM education brings together the seperate disciplines of Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts & Mathematics.  Through carefully designed and integrated projects, students are able to apply their classroom learning and experiment with new thinking and technology, to participate in the solutions of tomorrow.

SCIENCE

Our students explore their world with curiosity,  as they form hypotheses, trial methods, conduct experiments & draw conclusions.

TECHNOLOGY

Beyond the fun of learning to code computer games & animations, our students develop problem-solving skills through sequencing, logic & experimentation.

ENGINEERING

From robotics to architectural design, building is a creative outlet that allows our students to bring their visions to life, all while developing their cognition & gross motor skills.

ART

Da Vinci understood that science & art are not separate entities but two integral aspects of discovery. Photography, story-telling and sketching, help our students to fully realise & articulate their ideas.

THE RATINGS ARE IN …

We used Build-A-Mind as an incursion for our Year 3 students, The students explored how to use Scratch coding program to create a food chain game.
Kerry from Build-A-Mind stepped the students through how scratch works and how to create a game. This was done with a half day incursion for the students and then students continued to work on their projects over following lessons.
Kerry was able tailor the incursion to the needs of the unit of work and students mixed ability levels.
The students really enjoyed the experience and wanted to create more projects on Scratch.
